  • Police have asked internet trolls to stop posting 'threatening and inaccurate' messages on social media after a 14-year-old girl was murdered in a park.
Viktorija Sokolova was found in Wolverhampton's West Park just before 7am on April 12.
A post-mortem revealed the Lithuanian-born youngster, known as Tori, had suffered a blow to the head. She was reported missing a day before she was found.
A 16-year-old boy from the West Midlands city, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with rape and murder.
Another teenage boy, aged 17, was arrested on suspicion of murder and has been bailed pending further investigation.
Viktorija Sokolova's body was discovered in Wolverhampton's West Park on April 12Now West Midlands Police have requested that speculation online as to who may have attacked Viktorija stop because it could 'put innocent people at risk'.

Detective Inspector Caroline Corfield said: 'We would like to take this opportunity to thank the local community for their support but also to remind people to refrain from speculating or identifying people they suspect to be involved on social media.
'We are aware of several threatening and inaccurate posts and this kind of misuse of social media could undermine the investigation and put innocent people at risk.'
Viktorija's family have also called for theories to stop being peddled on social media.
They said: 'We ask that all the rumours that are going around on social media be stopped as we are finding this very upsetting.'

DI Corfield added: 'Our thoughts remain with Viktorija's family who deserve the best opportunity to see justice done and we are determined to present the best evidence to the court.
'If anyone does have any information which could assist the investigation I would appeal to them to contact the incident room on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.'
West Park was closed while forensic investigators scoured the area for evidence but has now been reopened.

Hundreds of balloons were tied to the gates as friends paid tribute to Viktorija.
Her family said she 'was like a little angel' and made their lives 'so colourful and full of meaning'.
They added: 'We can't believe she has left us at such a young age. We will never forget you our sweetheart.
'You will be living in our hearts, soul and mind forever. Goodbye our little angel.'
Officers are trawling through hours of CCTV footage to piece together what happened.
'Although a teenage boy has been charged with her murder and another remains on police bail, the investigation is by no means at an end,' the force said on their website.
