That’s a steep price tag for one dress, but the White House adviser presumably saved on her footwear. The black satin heels with a faux-gem buckle detail are the Beven 2 style from her own Ivanka Trump shoe range. Practical!Clearly, the first daughter — who spent the evening with the nation’s top Olympic and Paralympic athletes — has an unapologetic love for ultrafeminine ruffles, tiers, and frills. If she can afford it, who are we to stop her?
Not everyone was a fan, however. Though many Trump devotees praised the look, it was dismissed as “frumpy” by London’s Express newspaper, which said it “swamped her petite figure.” Twitter critics also couldn’t resist making a few jabs, with one commenter calling the dress “matronly” and the buckled shoes more appropriate for Thanksgiving.
